A Heartfelt Appeal for Access to Clean Drinking Water
To the Honorable Representatives of gashaka local government Taraba State,
We, the inhabitants of Alpha Area, Gashaka Ward B, are writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue that has been affecting our community for far too long. As we struggle to access one of the most basic human needs – clean drinking water – we humbly appeal to you to use your offices to address this critical matter.
The lack of access to clean drinking water in our area has become a perennial problem, with far-reaching consequences for our health, well-being, and economic development.
Furthermore, the absence of clean drinking water has hindered our community's economic development. Women and children, who are often the primary caregivers, are forced to spend hours each day searching for water, rather than engaging in productive activities. This has resulted in a significant loss of productivity, income, and opportunities for economic growth.
In light of these challenges, we respectfully request that
i. the Councilor of Ward B,
ii. the Executive Chairman,
iii. the Member of the House of Assembly,
iv. the Member of the House of Representatives, and
v. the Senator representing Taraba Central consider our plea and work towards providing a reliable source of potable water for our area.
Specifically, we request that you:
1. Drill boreholes: We appeal to you to drill boreholes in strategic locations throughout our community, to provide a reliable source of clean drinking water.
2. Rehabilitate existing water infrastructure: We appeal to you to rehabilitate our existing water infrastructure, including pipes, pumps, and storage facilities, to ensure that clean water reaches our homes and communities.
3. Provide water storage facilities: We request that you provide water storage facilities, such as tanks and reservoirs, to store clean water during periods of scarcity.
We believe that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental human right, and we urge you to use your offices to ensure that this right is realized in our community. We are confident that with your support, we can overcome this challenge and build a healthier community
